Here at Rebel Romance, we love to work with small illustrators and artists, especially those who are full of personality, nostalgia and an extra touch of magic!

A bright photo of Jen James with curly blonde hair and glasses, set against a yellow background. Surrounded by a collage of her illustrated surface patterns including florals, frogs, raccoons, and mushrooms. Caption says “Hiya!” to introduce her creative world.

Jen James Design ticks all the boxes and more! As a surface pattern designer and illustrator, Jen brings a serious passion for nature, animals, florals and retro inspired colour palettes to all her work.

Whimsical artwork of Jen James drawn as a cartoon figure wearing sunflower dungarees, surrounded by illustrated elements like a sunflower, sausage dogs, iPad, mushroom, and gin glass. A fun, characterful tribute to her identity and design style.

Like many creatives, Jen began her journey charging next to nothing for her hours of heart filled work. However over time, her style evolved, blending nostalgic charm, retro inspirations and love for nature, and work picked up!

We’re incredibly proud to have Jen as the artist behind our latest Cottagecore Collection at Rebel Romance. Her beautifully detailed print is inspired by whimsical florals and brings a cosy, folky countryside feel, now features on our stretch dungarees and flared pinafore dresses. It’s a celebration of slow living, nature, and the joy of dressing in the same ethics.
