When Things Don’t Go to Plan (and Why That’s Okay)

At Rebel Romance we always promise honesty, quality and a touch of chaos because running a small business isn’t always smooth sailing. Recently we hit a few unexpected bumps with our wrap dresses, square neck dresses and resort shirts and we wanted to talk about it openly rather than sweep it under the rug.

Sometimes no matter how carefully we plan, production doesn’t go exactly as expected. When these pieces arrived it became clear that the finishing just wasn’t up to the high standard we aim for. Some seams were a little wonky and certain methods were used that differed from the samples we had approved.

Rather than sending them to landfill, which we would never do, we’ve decided to put them on sale. This gives you the chance to grab something lovely at a reduced price while helping us make sure nothing goes to waste.

As a proudly neurodivergent team, we have a tendency to hold onto things when they go wrong, wanting to fix them and make them right. This has been a big learning curve for us, and we are using it as a chance to improve and make sure future runs meet the quality we always aim for.

The support we have had from you all has been incredible. Your kind words on social media and the rave reviews from those who have already bought these pieces have honestly meant the world to us. Even if they are a little less than perfect, knowing you still love them makes all the hard work worthwhile.
